Charlie had his 1 year doctor appointment and all is well with growth and development. He is in the 90th percentile for weight (25 lb, 4 oz), height (32.5") AND head circumference (19.1 cm)! Big boy! Trey better be nice to him!
When Charlie isn't eating, he is: thinking about his next meal, drinking milk, looking for food, playing in the dogs' water, tormenting Trey, squealing, jumping, climbing stairs, or playing peak-a-boo.
In general, this dude is happy just to be alive. He is super smiley and loves to be the center of attention. He loves to be a "big kid" and imitates EVERYTHING that Treyman does. He loves to be held and can get quite upset if you put him down or are unwilling to pick him up. Apparently, he missed the memo that he weighs 25+ lbs!!!
Charlie is starting to walk. He takes a few steps independently and then plops to the ground. He definitely gets where he wants to go (quickly) with crawling, so that is his continued preferred method of transportation.
Charlie is quite vocal. He seems to focus on volume more than articulation at this time. And, he likes to be heard. This kid has the shrillest shriek I've ever heard. He loves to sing and imitate noises. He has a few words- mama, byebye, hello and more. He knows the word "no" but thinks it's funny to ignore it and do it again and again. The undesired behavior is always followed by a sinister laugh. I guess we will have to work on that.
I'm catching up on my picture uploads so be prepared for a million... and don't say I didn't warn you.
