Popping the Question

I'm by no means a hopeless romantic, but every girl loves a good engagement story.  My friend, Rainna, just got engaged two weeks ago to the sweetest guy, Lance.  Their story is just so sweet I just had to share.

He first found a treasure chest...

...and filled it with scrapbook pages, pictures, movie stubs, and memorabilia from their first dates/trips, etc.

They took a walk on the beach after dinner and found it...

... as they looked through it, he told her that she was his biggest "treasure" and then popped the question.

She said, "yes."

Then they walked back to their house on the beach to a house full of friends/family that were there for a surprise engagement party.

He even hired a photographer who was hiding in the sand dunes and was able to capture the big event.  Does this guy get an A+ for romance or what?

They are such a sweet couple and I'm so excited for them!  Congrats, Rainna and Lance!

Keeneland with the Kiddos

What a gorgeous day!  Our whole M fam (minus Phil) spent the afternoon at Keeneland.  It was not crowded at all, so we got to sit right up by the track with a great view of the "neighs."  And both kids were so well behaved.  Not a peep from either of them, except for Allsion's cheering.   Treybird missed both of his afternoon naps, but was still an angel.  I'm so glad he is such a happy camper.   He just goes with the flow.

I took way to many pics to post them individually (surprised?).   Anyways, please feel free to enjoy the slideshow!

Happy Snail

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words.  In this case, I agree.  Here is little man with his new favorite toy:  the snail.

Farm Fun

We've had a great, but chilly, week here in KY.  Thank goodness it has finally started to warm back up.  70 degrees has never felt so good!  The sun is out and we spent this morning playing outside on my parents' farm.  Trey was a big fan of the horses!

My mom, sister and I are taking the kiddos to Keeneland this afternoon for a couple of races.  Allison has been so great with Trey.  She will be a great big sissy in just a few more months!

Baptisms and Birthdays

We did a lot of celebraitng this weekend.  Not only did we celebrate Trey's baptism, but it was also my dad's birthday...

...AND the anniversary of us telling family and close friends about the exciting news that we were expecting!  Phil spent the weekend in Buffalo and told his family over Easter dinner.  I sent a birthday card to "Grandpa" from "baby Z."  Can't believe how our lives have changed in one short year!

But, now onto the reason for the weekend.  Trey's baptism.  He was such a good boy during church.  And, awfully cute in his white tux!

Church was followed by a party with tons of friends and family!  We had such a great time introducing our little man to so many important people who traveled from all over the country just for the party!

Talkin' with my Papa/Trey's Great-Grandfather, who is going on 92 years old!

Zawadzki Men

Our little family of 3 :)

4 Generations

Thanks to my both of my sisters and Justin for taking such great pictures this weekend!

5 month updates

Stats: Trey weighed 15 lbs., 1 oz. at 4 months, so I'm sure he is up a couple of pounds by now.  My guess is 17.  I won't know the rest of his stats until his 6 month visit with the pediatrician in May... but I can tell he is growing.  Almost completely out of 6 month clothes.

Schedule:   Little man is a champ.  He sticks to his schedule pretty well.  Even when we travel.

Sleep:  12 hours at night.  Four 1+ hr naps during the day.  I'm not complaining.  ;)

Eating:  Started SOLIDS this weekend!  See previous post for cute pics.

Play:  When he is awake, he's on the go.  He's into everything, all the time.  But his favorite toys are anything that jingle/rattle and anything that can fit in his mouth.   One of his favorite "play" activities is peek-a-boo.  He just smiles so big.   What a ham.

First Foods

I was going to hold out on starting solids until 6 months, but the pediatrician said he wanted him to start solids by his next visit (in May), so we decided to try it out for the first time this weekend.  This way BOTH sides of the family could be a part of it.

Trey has been very interested in eating for about a month now.  He watches very carefully as people chew, and often imitates by opening and moving his jaw.  So, I guess it was time.  He did surprisingly well, although he didn't know exactly what to do with it.

Bourbon.  Another good thing about living in the bluegrass....
